Tighter collaboration between industry in form of SMEs and the research sector could exploit a hitherto untapped potential to unleash the full capability of the knowledge and innovation system in Europe. Global competitiveness of the Baltic Sea Region – as well as other regions across the globe – highly depends on the continuous development of new products and innovative services based on sophisticated research. Bearing in mind the outstanding innovation performance showcased by the Baltic Sea Region in the European Innovation Scoreboard 2017, Baltic TRAM partnership is committed to advance the on-going dialogue on science-business cooperation.

On 25-26 October 2017, Baltic TRAM invited industry and other relevant stakeholders to come together at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm to discuss this issue of better cooperation between industry and analytical facilities under the name “Analytical Research for Industry – Novel Options for Enhanced Cooperation”. The conference took place at the helm of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States, thus shedding more light on the implementation of Swedish Presidency´s priorities – sustainability, continuity and adaptability.

Piotr Piwowarczyk from Baltic TRAM’s project partner Foundation of Innovative Initiatives used this platform to explain how the project’s open call for companies to access free analytical research work and presented the results of the 1st call.
